Along the industrial laser welding of electronic devices the number of components produced, often reaches several thousand parts per day. With the goal to reduce failure costs to a minimum, online control of both weld quality and essential laser parameters is an essential requirement. Hence, an optical sensor-based data-acquisition tool incombination with subsequent intelligent processing units offer the potential of total process control.
